Seattle KiteFest began in 2003, as a welcomed annual kiting event for Northwest kite enthusiasts, families, and community. This one day event presented by The Model Family Mentorship Program is designed to encourage family wellness, teaches & promotes the hobby of kiting, and inform the community about Model Family efforts to strengthen families through volunteerism and mentorship.

Model Families is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening low-income and disadvantaged families linking them with activities, which provide positive exposure and stimulation in our partnered communities. This endeavor is the first of its kind anywhere in the country and Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane are the first of many regions to benefit from such a challenging program.
